Artist Statement
Growing up on the west coast of Canada and having lived in France for a few years, my work is inspired not only by the beauty of my surroundings but also by the warmth and colours of the mediterranean. My paintings are vibrant and recognized for their colour play, strong composition and interesting view points. Current series involve mediterranean still life and Jazz themes in both representational and semi-abstract styles.
Biography
Raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, I now reside in Victoria, on Vancouver Island, with my family. I am a professional Display Designer who has worked in creative fields thoughout my career. With a diploma in Design from Langara College in Vancouver, and more recently, Fine Arts studies in both Toulouse France and Victoria, my passion for painting is evolving into a number of series inspired by my surroundings and experiences. I plan to continue painting and developing my skills, as creating provides pleasure not only for myself, but also for those who enjoy my work.
